"Thanks for the truth. I avoided $8.00 per night in extra fees on hotels.com, and found a lower rate on your site. Keep up the honest work!"
Jan M. Madison, CT
"I just used your on-line booking to obtain a government rate for the U.S. Attorney for the District of Minnesota at a hotel where they could not give me that same rate over the phone. This is almost too good to be true, but it certainly made my day. "
Jean, Minneapolis, MN

Philadelphia is located in the southeastern part of Pennsylvania is the largest city in the state. It is home to approximately 1.5 million people and has many nicknames, among them, "The City of Brotherly Love", "Quaker City" and "Philly."

Early settlers included the Shawnee Indians and two groups of Europeans, the Dutch and Swedes. Both groups set up trading posts and farmed along the Delaware River. In 1681 Captain William Markham and a small group of colonists settled in what is now known as Philadelphia. A year later, William Penn, a Quaker who was a cousin to Captain Markham, established the city in the late 17th century.

Philadelphia is one of the country's oldest cities and was a major player in early American history. The Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution were both drafted and signed in Philadelphia's Independence Hall.

Known for its diversity, Philadelphia is truly a melting pot. The citizenry of the city includes a large Italian, African American and Irish population. Other cultures found in the city are Russian, Asian Greek Latino and, recently, a good number of West Indians and Koreans.

When we talk about Philadelphia, we cannot omit the food that has also contributed to the reputation of this city, such as the Philly cheese steak, hoagies, Italian Ice, and soft pretzels. The city also offers great restaurants such as Vetri, City Tavern and Le Bec Fin.

Sight seeing is plentiful and a true American history lesson. Philadelphia City Hall, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and the Betsy Ross House are a must. The Philadelphia Zoo, Rittenhouse Square SEPTA Museum and the Walnut Street Theater are all worth seeing.
