"Thanks for the truth. I avoided $8.00 per night in extra fees on hotels.com, and found a lower rate on your site. Keep up the honest work!"
Jan M. Madison, CT
"I just used your on-line booking to obtain a government rate for the U.S. Attorney for the District of Minnesota at a hotel where they could not give me that same rate over the phone. This is almost too good to be true, but it certainly made my day. "
Jean, Minneapolis, MN

With over 44 million visitors each year, Orlando is one of the top vacation destinations in the world. Orlando’s claim to fame is Walt Disney World, which every child dreams of visiting. With its sub tropical climate in central Florida, Orlando is the perfect all year getaway.

Orlando was named after Orlando Reeves, a volunteer U.S. soldier during the war against the Seminole Indians around 1836. Orlando remained a rural town through the Civil War and served as refuge for displaced Southerners. In the 1860s, Orlando was booming with cattle ranches and cotton plantations. In 1875, because of the warm climate, William Harrison Holden planted the first orange grove and soon after, Orlando became citrus capital of the United States and remained so until the winter of 1894-95 when extremely cold temperatures devastated the citrus industry. World War II ushered in defense manufacturing and the Glenn L. Martin (now Lockheed Martin) opened its first Florida plant creating thousand of jobs.

In 1964, Walt Disney secretly bought land in and around Orlando, and a year later he announced his plans to build an east coast amusement park. However, Walt Disney died in 1966 before his dreams came to fruition in 1971. Besides Disney World, Orlando’s popular area attractions are the Kennedy Space Center Complex, Universal Studios, and Busch Gardens.
