Founded in 1905 as the Atlanta Art Association, the High Museum of Art is the leading art museum in the Southeastern United States with over 11,000 works of art in its collection.
With a full range of artistic expression, the High has a potpourri of art including American, African, European, Decorative, Folk, Modern and Contemporary along with Photography and Sculpture collections. Not only is the High devoted in advocating the work of its own native Southern artists, but is also known as the only major museum in North America to have created a department strictly dedicated to the field of folk and self-taught art.
As an educational outlet and tool for the community, the High also provides annual film series and festivals, special events, adult programs, lectures and courses, children programs and student tours. In addition, space can be rented out in either the atrium or lobby for a perfect and exclusive reception or dinner party.
The High Museum of Art offers other amenities such as the Table 1280 Restaurant and Tapas Lounge, High Cafe, a coffee bar, a new museum shop, a piazza, expanded parking garage and a newly landscaped campus for the convenience of its visitors worldwide.
